i use to have an old 1999 computer with windows 98 and it had almost good graphics for modern games lol

You're right! I've never seen that. It looks like burned film. Maybe it burned once in the projector?

This is actually pretty impressive for the 80s. Was it realtime or prerendered?

Pre-rendered. The polygonal frames took a few seconds per frame. The fractal and ray-traced frames took about 30 minutes per frame.
