A short film highlighting one of our home-made Halloween props. "Dropper" hangs from the roof and plunges down in front of unsuspecting passers-by for a hearty Halloween scare. It is composed out of a large prop skeleton which is attached to a suspended windshield wiper motor via cable and throw arm. Once it is triggered via pushbutton, the motor activates in a pre-programmed feature known as "park". This means that the motor automatically completes one full 360 degree rotation, returns to its original position, and stops (or parks). The throw arm attached to the motor has a cable attached to it to which the skeleton hangs off of, and when the motor is activated the skeleton performs a quick and controlled plunge down, and then back up to its original elevated position. A simple relay circuit is also attached to the motor wiring, causing the relay to close when the motor is activated, powering a suspended beacon light as the skeleton falls. The entire thing is powered by an old 12 volt power supply.
Wow that's awesome! I would love to see a tutorial. Great Work!
