With Vin on TV and Jack Buck on Radio it was only right that two hall of famers call this special play. On TV or Radio you had the best of both Worlds. I am just so happy that Fat Chris Berman did not call this Short Greek Drama. Berman would ruin the moment !!!!!!!!!!!
One of the great baseball moments of all time. Some people prefer Vin Scully's radio call, and others prefer Jack Buck's TV call. As a Cardinals fan, I'm partial to Jack, but I don't think it really matters. This home run is like a diamond: you can look at it from any angle you want to, it's still beautiful.
It's even more incredible when seeing the whole at bat considering it almost couldn't happen; the slow roller that just barely went foul, the throw to first that very neary picked off Mike Davis, the foul ball that barely caught the bat, ect. It was a true miracle.
This event changed my life. Back in Jr. High, I lived with my parents at Elisian Pard Ave. Just a few blocks from Dodger Stadium. I saw some games at the stadium in the cheap seats but I couldn't affort the series tickets so I saw it on tv at home. I remember jumping up and down in my living room like a fool after the home run. From that moment on, I went from being a shy little nerd to an outsporken young man. I've stopped playin baseball but I've pursued many other dreams.

Did anyone else realize Vin has called (IMO) the three greatest World Series moments ever? Rank them however you want........
Don Larsen's perfect game 1956
Bill Buckner's error 1986
Kirk Gibson's homer 1988
