God, I almost killed a KIA truck with an M-270 MLRS SPLL on that road in 91. Are the Koreans still batshit crazy drivers or have they mellowed?

I was at Camp Casey 1966-68 and it was nothing like this. One road and one RR track along the main gate......dirty, stinking, and whores every where....I drove a 2 1/2 ton M-35 all over that part of the Korea. I still to this day have the stink of that place in my nose. Have no desire to every go back there. Really primative back then.

man! what a change! It used to be a tiny little town! All those apartments-the high rises, is unbelievable! I'm fascinated and I wonder what the population was in 1987 when I was stationed there.

I think it is probably the cheapest way to get the most people in the smallest amount of land. Same story everywhere that land is expensive. If they tried to be a bit more unique (as much as that is possible with big square multi-storied apartment buildings) maybe it would not be so boring.

are you allowed to publicize directions to a base entrance? If so, weird; times have changed. And, why do it? ...even if.....

When have our base locations been secret? (Hint: Never). Note the major road directly in front of the base gate. They are smack dab in the middle each town they are in (A sore point for local land developers), are visible on Google Earth, are marked on city maps, and widely shown on AFN? The locations of the actual gates? A traffic issue for those of us that actually drive, daily, to all of these obscure locations. Same as I would show a shortcut to any other place.

I always like a route that does NOT go through the lair of the dreaded taxi...
