god I hate watching interviews with her mother because she acts like Oh I did everything to save her, I loved her, she was my baby, Gia wanted her mother attention so bad i think in away herion was the only she could get but I think her mother got something she always wanted through her Death the one thing Gia really didnt want but her mother did : FAME

So sad a bautiful troubled woman.I can Identify with abandonment issues.They leave you very empty and vulnerable and you search to fille the void. RIP Gia- your soul is free now.

Now I know what really happened to her. Thank you for this video! Though you've been gone for many years R.I.P. GIA!

@01kingsyd I agree with you 100%.

Gia was a beautiful person that only wanted to be loved and as I watch this it breaks my heart that she died at 26 of AIDS and her mother is getting famous off her death. Disgusting. Gia may you rest in peace. You're no longer in pain.

How can you ever watch this without shedding some tears?? Gia's life is the epitome of tragedy.My greatest fear is dying alone So I can only imagine how scared she was with all the doctors in thier bio-hazard suits and knowing that she had something so unknown and scary that people were afraid to even touch her.And yes her mother is a total Douche!!!

@Pinkranger87 AMEN. I wish I could kick Kathleen in the throat. She threw her own daughter to the wolves; imagine living in New York City by yourself when you're 17 years old, surrounded by sharks and leeches who just want you for what they can get out of you (money/fame), and all you want is your family and a friend and maybe some love and affection. I have a 17 year old son and I wouldn't leave him on his own in NYC for anything. This girl didn't stand a chance--she was doomed.

Her parents were her demise. Her father abused her sexually and her mother thought about her own needs and happiness, leaving her daughter alone at 11 years old, at the time she really needed her mother on so many levels. Gia was extremely sensitive and was ruined by the rejection of her mother and whatever her father did to her. Gia may have had a chance to rise above all that but then, still a hurt child, she was thrust into a dirty, exploitive, shallow world in a new city. She was doomed.

She was beautiful. I used to steal my sister's cosmos because I thought she was so stunning. I still wish I had them. It's sad that what makes someone special seems to make them unravel.

@70sRob My American Girlfriend bought magazines with Gia on Ebay. They are worth a lot of money now. I only have 1 magazine where she´s on the cover, it´s Dutch, about her tragic life.
