Thats it - no up side, no 'but if we do this it cld be better'. He's just stating it as fact and if theres any argument involved its that we shldn't be two faced about it - like we are currently. I'm not saying I agree, in fact I think its a pretty over-simplified opinion (yes we are animals and have animal instincts, but we have higher intel too, and thats what civilisation is - we're learning) but thats what the songs about.

Wow u guys have far too much optimism to be listening to Tool! The songs not about encouraging us to stop violence. It's saying we get off on it - we enjoy watching other people suffer - be it gossipy news broadcasts of who murdered who and how, someone having their dreams crushed on X Factor - we love it. As he says in the song 'much better u than I'.
