"Not so much a song . . more a 'thought' - with a coupla chords bunged in."
This is absotively, posilutely my last posting for 2008 (or maybe it's my first for 2009, depending on your time-zone.)
This is just a 'DEMO' . .and so is peppered with coughs and sniffs, as is usual with me. That all stops from 1'25" in, and thereafter it's almost pleasant! I had to post the demo, as the song has a "Christmassy" lyric - so time was of the essence. 'Hope you still get something out of it.
I messed up the lyric, as I was singing it, and had to improvise a new rhyme ('away & may' instead of 'blues & choose' as shown in the lyrics).
The original lyric is better and is what I will go with if I re-record.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my subscribers, supporters and detractors, alike. It's all been the greatest possible fun in 2008. There's still room for a few more subscribers in 2009 (BIG hint!)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
LYRICS
ONE SMALL STEP (If God Lived On The Moon) © Stuart Fretwell 2008
Imagine that its Christmas-Time
And God lives on the Moon.
Imagine God has x-ray eyes
(And) can see right in your room.
Oh . . .what would he see here, today
When he looked down through the gloom?
Would we live life so differently . . .
If God lived on the Moon?
(chorus)
When night falls forever
And the day fades all-too-soon.
The heart it reaches-out to God
On the dark side of the Moon. X2
So live your life, like this, right-now . .
And chase-away your blues
Cos God has made a path for you. .
To follow . . .if you choose.
(Repeat verse 2, with chorus chords)
Oh . . .what would he see here, today
When he looked down through the gloom?
Would we live life any differently . . .
If God lived on the Moon?
(chorus)
When night falls forever
And the day fades all-too-soon.
The heart it reaches-out to God
On the dark side of the Moon. X2
I am playing( acoustically) the first-issue version of the Stagg sw206ce-n electro acoustic which has the 'rock style' headstock.
Yep . .I was on the 'Stagg' . .which exists in a dimension all of its own . . . .in the newly-discovered Plankular Galaxy . . . near Andromeda's lesser-known 'wardrobe' star cluster. On the Stagg, the sound emanates from a strange 'black hole' near the centre of its being - and into which the entire Universe will ultimately collapse. Pffft! And you just thought it was some cheap Korean 'box'. No-ways, matey. It's in Inter-Stellar overdrive!
Sweet..
