This beautiful rendition of "O Come Emmanuel" is by the highly anointed group, Selah, from the album, Ultimate Christmas Hits, Vol. 2. The beginning background music is Hatikvah (The Hope), The National Anthem of Israel. This is significant because Emmanuel, the Messiah, will return to save His people, Israel. Emmanuel is "The Hope Of Israel". O בא את אמנואל

John M. Neale, an English hymn translator, translated this hymn from Latin into English in the 1800's.

Christians rejoice with God's people of all ages upon realization that Christ the Messiah did come ages ago. Biblical references of the birth of Jesus and to believers, the real meaning of Christmas, are given in Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" which means, "God with us." Yet He now is waited with the same urgent expectation for His second advent, when victory over sin and death will be final.

  • Shalom. so Let me ask you something and I mean this sincerely but do you believe Messiah has come already?

  • @jconnor117 Hello Brother. Yes, Emmanuel has come.. We have seen the Light. John 1:14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

  • @bobf72450 Using the New Testament is not benneficial in witnessing to my people. I know you mean well but it is really not the best way to show Yeshua to them.

  • @Menechem Thank you for correcting me and thank you for your insight.

  • Ransom captive Israel!

  • @plainTess He will, very soon I believe.

  • @Menechem I believe the whole word of God, old and new testament is not only beneficial to all, but necessary for all to hear, read and understand. It is all important. And yes, I believe Jesus came once, and he will return again.

  • this is a beautiful version of the song. it gives me chills... i do not have a Jewish background, but our Savior obviously did, and I love learning about the past of the Jews in the Bible and from my Jewish friends.
