In a desperate attempt to defend my geek honour, I see myself forced to play and comment for you an instructive game of chess. You have been warned.

    Aber ansonsten hast Du nicht unrecht. Ich schätze mal, der Stil ist vergleichbar. Ob ich von den momentanen Let's Playern Lizenzgebühren verlangen kann...? (c;

  • aha, ok, thanks... also sowas wie das "handicap" beim chess gamen! :-)

  • It's my old rating. All chess players who take part in rated tournaments are eventually given a DWZ (Deutsche Wertungszahl). It's rates how strongly you play against others. Newbies start at around 1500, while grand masters have a rating of around 2500. Its international equivalent is the ELO.

  • wtf is a 2050-player? say it, come on, do it, do it... :-P

  • No question is truly embarassing if posed in earnest, Kerstin. The term "pwn" stems from 1337-speak and means to defeat someone while making them look quite foolish. Trash talking in online gaming can be tricky, and the letters p and o are next to each other. "Pwn" is believed to be stronger than "own". I love this phrase due to its pseudo-geek-coolness, though I never use it in earnest. For more information on this interesting phenomenon, see:
