I am almost done reading the book this movie is based on and believe me Tje movie is VERY different from the book. A lot was left out but it is a good movie nonetheless. I just believe Mary is portrayed as guilty by association in the movie, however evidence suggests that she knew a great deal about the plot . Whether or not she really knew Booth would kill Lincoln is unclear but Ishe at least knew Lincoln would be kidnapped. I

"It's not so much about historical evidence...." Well, that's nice. What we have here is a movie designed to make us feel bad about a person who was, by all accounts, guilty of conspiracy to murder. I wonder if 100 years from now we'll be watching sympathetic movies about Lee Harvey Oswald....
