I have never heard young Lao-American boyz married to lao girlz overthere. What I've seen in my town is unbelievable, they are old or divorced man who often go to laos and get a wife. two of my friends did the same thing, get a young wife from Laos. Let's not let a political boundaries get in the way of ethnic identification. I am Lao and I live in the United States. Yes I am an American citizen, but I also consider myself to be Lao. The Lao Isan are ethnic Lao (26 million of them, more Lao live in Thailand than they are in Laos). There are also Lao living in NE Cambodia in Stung Treng area. I also know there are a lot of Khmer living in Surin Province of Thailand. They're ethnic Khmer, but are Thai citizens. The same is true for Lao Isan.
