Vintage 8mm home movie video taken at Fantasy Island Amusement Park in Grand Island, New York in the summer of 1967. Lady on the flying trapeze; lion tamer; scary clown; warped mirror; train ride; goat eating paper; llamas. I'm the boy petting the goats at the beginning of the video.

  • Man, I grew up in Niagara Falls and spent many a summer at Fantasy Island. Do you have any more footage?

  • Unfortunately this is the only footage my parents took on that day back in August 1967. I'm the boy petting the goat at the beginning.

  • Thanks for the memories! What fun to see this!

  • Fantasy Island used to use Fanfare for the common man for their commercials,we used to take our report cards (during grade school) to Tops or Bells? to get a knockoff on passes (depending on the grades) to Fantasy Island or Crystal Beach.I'm sure there was a class trip or two to FI as well as a family outing in the late 60's early 70's.

just incredible & satisfying to see this footage..more than a foggy memory now.

  • Fantasy Island!! This brings back some great childhood memories from the early 60s. But now I really need to hear the old radio commercial. Does anyone have that jingle? Lyrics went: "Come to Fantasy Island, there's so much to see and do..."

  • That was great and music was perfect! Brought back memories of a place called Sauzers Kiddyland in Indiana we used to go to many years ago.

  • I loved fantasy island when I was a kid.

  • wow if those lions decided to attack....

  • Great video! Fantasy Island is such a treasure; I have so many childhood memories of the park. I returned this year for the first time in about 25 years and I was delighted to see how much of it has remained the same since the 1970s.

  • You'll love it again when you're 40.
