@wainerkorven They're similar in that the sound mid-scooped. The Big Dippers are very mid-scooped.

@hgostos I can't recall what was in there... this guitar has been disassembled since. I think that it was a .022 paper in oil Vitamin Q cap - which is NOT a typical strat cap...

Wow, you've nailed the essence of the vintage fender Strat sound. That neck pickup is sensational, the others are up there as well. Any recommendations on a pickup replacement to get close to your bridge and neck pickup sound?. What would be the Klein equivalent of a 66 Fender Duo-Sonic? Thanks for the post!

@POGFROGULPOP Thanks! I don't know if Klein has anything quite like those WBs... You might just try and get your hands on a vintage '60s Mustang/Musicmaster/Duo Sonic pickup and either try it as-is or have it rewound. They go relatively cheaply on eBay.
