Pre-Game Hoagland Prayer

This was said by Coach Bill Hoagland before the State Championship game, and every other game. This is THE best possible football pre-game prayer, ever.

"Dear, God. Help me to be a player in this game of life. I don't ask for any easy plays, I only ask for the stuff to give 100% of what I've got. Help me to understand this game is full of knocks and troubles, help me to play on the square... And finally if I am laid on the shelf in sickness or injury, help me to take that as part of the game too; help me never to whimper or squeal that I had a raw deal, and at the end, I ask for no lying compliments. I only wanna know THAT I AM A COMPETITOR!"

He's already retired, he's coached for a high school state championship team and a college national championship team, he's a good man, and he follows his beliefs despite what others say, and he has a right to do so, and a person like you who tramples on his right to do so, is on the real wrong side. Just because someone doesn't do you what you like, or isn't PC, they're unconstitutional? No way! I stand up for this man, and anyone's right to say what they want to say.

@SubZero37 I agree so much with what you say, everyones unconstitutional bullcrap makes me so mad. Everyone has the freedom of speech and any coach would understand to the fullest extent if you did not want to take part in it, so a coach is not even forcing religion on nobody it just pride in your team and repect for you coach that lets you stay.
