Pine Barrens brush fire crowning

May 16th, 2007, Day 2 of a 15,000 Acre brush fire that erupted into an out of control wild fire through woods in Barneget, Stafford, Warren Grove, Bass River. B-10 and B-34 with a Military 6X6 operating in the woods when the fire crowned over the 6X6 truck. Firefighters lives were nearly missed.

Shows the danger of fighting fires in the pinelands. Fire is a natural and neccesary part of the Pinelands ecosystem and should not be interfered with. It is not neccesary to put these men in harm's way.

@LostWithInOurDreams This statement makes no sense: "we lost most of our pine barrons once beautiful and filled with life now is burnt black and and life less". I'm in those woods every few weeks, and I can assure you that they are not burnt black and lifeless. Fires are a normal occurrence in the pinelands, and the firefighters you see in these videos, most or all of them, come from families that have lived in the woods for decades or longer. They know what they're doing.

@LostWithInOurDreams We will risk a lot, to save a lot. We will risk little to save little. We are human too, and we want to go home to our families just as you or anyone else would. It was too much fire for them to put water on. The job of a forest firefighter is to take away fuel from the fire, not shoot water on it.
