  • hi there, i was wondering if you had the cook book settings before you put on all the extra accessories? I'm killing myself trying to find out how to balance the hf s20 which weighs almost the same as the hf s100 Thanks!!

  • @raginroninreview Thanks for asking! There are settings posted for bare camera with large battery in this thread.. Please locate "Merlin settings for bare camera with BP-827.".

  • I am very confused. I just bought the Canon Hfs100 and have installed the supplied software, ImageMixer3. I am filming the video in 1920x1080 and I import it into ImageMixer as 1920x1080. It plays back as 1920x1080 also. The problem is when i try to export the files to my computer they are only exporting as 720x480. Please help!

    Thanks!

  • Sorry but I can help since I have not used ImageMixer3. Hopefully some other can help...

  • Where the heck is this place!?!? It's so cool!

  • It is a goverment building at Helsinki, Finland, currenlty used by National Institute for Health and Welfare.

  • Man I swear I'm not even surprised to find out it's Europe. I hope I am alive to see the day that the US becomes more design-conscious...

You should see the government buildings over here, they could be used for horror films...

  • Do you work in an ad agency or creative house? Love the architecture.

  • great video. Does the xf100 footage import directly into imovie or does it need converting?

  • how long does the Pearstone BP-827 battery last?

  • Nevermind, had to look up actual specs on Steadicam Merlin.

  • Very nice video along with mix! Are you using a Cam Caddie?

  • I've recently bought a Canon HF S100 and have been testing different manual settings for the best image quality, and I can quite honestly say it works a lot better viewed on a 50Hz/100Hz screen. Computer monitors and YouTube re-compression really don't do it justice!

    Awesome video btw ;)

  • Responding to motion blur comments:

Indoors, there's generally not enough light to use a faster shutter speed which would sharpen each frame (in terms of motion blur). Another aspect is whether 50interlaced or 25progressive was used, and which deinterlacing method was used (if any). YouTube re-compression aswell as the fact that most computer monitors run at 60Hz makes the motion blur even more noticable, since it has to pull down frames every so often to maintain the correct framerate.
