NDS Final Fantasy IV Proto-Babil プロトバブイル

I recorded a video with Geryon many months ago, but I couldn't kill Proto-Babil reliably and didn't make a video. I've found a strategy that works (and at least 75% of the credit goes to cnthwz), so I'm posting it now. Apologies that it's the Japanese version, but I don't have the U.S. version. The core of this strategy is Focus x3 + Darkness + Jump (and that's what I got from cnthwz).

As usual, I played this on a table at a weird viewing angle (due to the camera), and that's why I accidentally change rows and fail to notice that I used dead Cecil to change back, and also why everything's so slow (I could barely see the screen, and also had to be careful not to move my DS). Under normal playing conditions, you could probably shave a minute or a minute and a half off of this.

Anyway...

Weapons: Onion Sword/Shield, Dragon Whisker, Masamune/Murasame, Artemis Bow/Arrow
Armor: Adamant, Ribbon, Crystal Ring (on everyone)

Lv. 99, all stats maxed

Abilities used (though some are merely insurance):
Cecil: Draw Attacks
Kain: Limit Break, Jump, Darkness, Focus
Edge: Cry, Steal, Phoenix
Rosa: White Magic, Doublecast, Omnicasting
Rydia: Black Magic, Limit Break, Fast Talker, Doublecast

...plus a bunch of Phoenix Downs.

Hrm. Would Focusing an extra time work? Remember that this strategy allows you to totally take your time, so whatever you can do to get Kain's damage up to 99,999 is worth it.

Rosa is using the Artemis Bow, which is a rare drop from Moon Maidens (I believe they're called). They're the female enemies in the first few floors of the Lunar Subterrane that are blonde and fight (rather than using magic).

BTW, if you'd have read the video description, you'd know what bow it is.

Give the ability to a character and just attack. The damage if normally over 9999 but only shows 9999, should do over 9999 damage.

You must steal the Darkness augment from Odin, in Baron Castle's basement.

For Omnicasting, you must give Fusoya atleast 1 augment before he leaves the party.
