Unfortunately, for some, Loewen's positions are based on inconvenient truths found in hard documentation that clearly contradict what most of us were taught in our so called history books. If you want to disagree with him, state your evidence. His evidence is much more than "splitting hairs". The issue associated with Thanksgiving, Christopher Columbus, and racism, to name a few, are pretty serious. Wrapping beliefs in flags or religious symbols is dangerous.

Professor Loewen is one of The Greatest Minds in modern scholastic society, PERIOD! His suggestions in "Lies My Teacher Told Me" as far as how to get American children interested in history again, is truly the only option! The standard curriculum has clearly failed American Minds! Revision to the text and revision to the delivery methods is a much needed change! Clearly, Professor Loewen offers clarity that many need to seek!

I always hated history class because I had studied Native Americans on my own and I was disgusted my the way teachers taught about them- that is, if they mentioned them at all. I'm reading The Lies my Teacher Told Me now and loving it.

This guy holds America in contempt and seeks to split hairs trying to destroy the foundations of our Christian heritage. I don't think he should be censored. He should just be debated.
