This video was made in response to a request from The Corrigan Brothers who are touring North America, Europe and Australia in 2010 and invited Irish dance groups to film and post "an Irish Dance interpretation" of their song. We are a group of avid set dancers from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. The Corrigan Brothers song mentions many places in Ireland, so our interpretation is a compilation of signature moves from traditional Irish set dances from some of those places, including the Mayo Lancers Set, the Connemara Set, and the Cloghan Set (which is from County Offaly, the same county as Moneygall).
For more information on Irish set dancing in Minnesota see the Ivy ceili Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=119779495430&ref=ts), or www.lomamor.org.
Special thanks to my stunt double, Susan! And sorry for the minor video/audio coordination problems. Some are my software limitations and some are the perennial YouTube issues but I promise none are due to mistakes by any of the dancers!! :)
