Opening Plenary: Michel Sidibé, Part 2

Michel Sidibé, Executive Director of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). His address to the delegates of the Be Heard! MSM Pre-Conference to the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna, Austria. 17-July-2010.

The opening plenary session provided a global update on the HIV epidemic among MSM in low- and middle-income countries, and offered new finding from the Johns Hopkins University-World Bank collaborative project, "The Global HIV Epidemics among MSM: Epidemiology, Prevention, Access to Care and Human Rights." Recent findings from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Eastern Europe and Central Asia regions were highlighted. Keynote addresses focused on HIV and human rights advocacy and activism challenges and imperatives.
