Gentle Doberman Pinscher grooms blind cat (then he smiles)

YEAH! A doberman gets into the finals at Westminster. It's about time that the world gets an accurate view of this loving breed. Kilroy loves his brother, "Bear." These two snuggle like this all the time. For a close-up look at Bear's eyes see my video, "Yes, this cat is blind." Kilroy gives a 'smile" and plays "be shy" at the end. And yes, Bear really is blind. He knows the house well. Cats also must be equipped with some other sort of sensitivity in order to get around in the "dark." But if I move furniture or leave a cabinet door open he smacks right into things. While my 4 cats and my Great Dane are all rescues. Kilroy is a Joan Firestone dobe. @kilroywashere123 (Dang I cut myself off! LOL!) I was about to say that I didn't hear you ask for it, nor ask for Shy (?) either. I have always loved the so-called "dangerous" breeds such as Dobies, Rotties, and Pitties. They are in desperate need of better P.R. Pitties are sweet and goofy, Rotties are gentle and very loving. And now I know that Dobies are cuties and hams! Good boy, Kilroy! You are obviously quite the personality, and a stellar representative of your breed!

@SiobhanGmail Thanks! He has always done that silly thing with his paws (I think that is how he itches his ears) so I shaped it using a clicker into "be shy" and now he does it all the time for attention. same thing with "smile." Other than playing with the cat, he is actually trying desperately to get my attention during the video and that is why he is going through his repertoire of cuteness. (When the camera was off we went to the dog park :-)

@SiobhanGmail Thanks. he is a joy to have around. There are 3 more cats, a Great Dane, and 4 human kids in the home and he takes care of everyone :-)

I have a blind Yorkie, an Ocicat, & a Doberman. My Doberman & Ocicat are the best of friends & both help the blind Yorkie around the house. Dobermans are wonderful & intelligent animals. It is ashame that they are given such a bad reputation.

@kilroywashere123 I have seen plenty of dogs Sit, Lay Down, Heel, & other silly things like Play Dead, Beg, or High Five. But I never encountered Smile & never expected it to be from a dobie! And

Whether human or cat, you can do a lot worse than having a loyal Doberman on your side. Very sweet!
