Let's see how many misconceptions we can find!

    1. Radio signals just won't interfere with the power.

    2. Radio signals wouldn't interfere with properly shielded coaxial television cable. If they haven't properly shielded it, that's their fault because radio signals are so ubiquitous that they're bound to absorb some other signal instead.

    3. Ham radio operators don't broadcast on wavelengths that are already in use by ordinary radio stations.

My radio was causing interference with my computer speaker and mouse. That was only 5 watts on 10 meters. A few ferrite chokes solved that problem. Even though modern radios aren't as likely to cause interference, they still can. So it's always a good idea to keep a few chokes on hand just in case. That said, people do like to blame us for interference even if we aren't the problem. "They have a big ass antenna, it's their fault". That's why I haven't told the neighbors I am a ham.

My evil ham radio antenna is less than 30 feet from my TV antenna....no issue.

modern radios have filters that eliminate the spurious radiation by a huge amount as compared to back during the zone days. And modern TV's also have a high level of rejection. If you point a 15 db 2 meter antenna at a TV antenna that's 10 feet away and use 1500 watts.....I see an issue. (Start flame war about CB radios and Illegal amps here----->

    1. If the PA is big enough it can, and could especially back then in the 50's and 60's :)

    2. They did not have shielded coaxial cables back then !!!

    3. Where in the video do they state the the amateur is transmitting on a ordinary radio station frequency?

    Dick! :)

Uncle Jesse might know how to make the best moonshine and how to outrun Roscoe P. Coltrain and his gang, but he sure doesn't know the difference between a ham radio antenna and a roof mounted TV antenna.

Or they (supposedly) come by on a windy day and leave something hanging on your door.

I've (again, supposedly) had that happen by the township zoning inspector. He's (supposedly) told the FCC on me, but either they haven't done anything in 8 months or they told him to piss off.

And all those 'supposedly's are because I heard all this from the HOA Board president (who is, ironically, the least of my worries right now!).
