On October 2 and 3, 2011, at Works & Process at the Guggenheim, next-generation choreographers Emery LeCrone and Avi Scher each premiered new works set to the same music by 102-year-old, two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and former music director of Ballet Caravan, Elliott Carter. Accompanying the dances, clarinetist Charles Neidich, violinist Rolf Schulte, and cellist Fred Sherry performed Carter's Duettino, Gra, Fantasy, Figment I, and Con Leggerezza Pensosa. The world premiere performances featured dancers from American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Morphoses, New York City Ballet, among others were interspersed with discussion by the choreographers, moderated by New York Post Dance Critic Leigh Witchel. Dancers include Lia Cirio, DaVon Doane, Thomas Forster, Jennifer Goodman, Russell Janzen, Barry Kerolis, Gabrielle Lamb, Megan LeCrone Chaz Meszaros, Victoria North, Joel Prouty, Elizabeth Claire Walker, and James Whiteside.
