Harris Himes -- addicted to hate in Montana

As a proponent for Kristen Hansen's (R-Havre) discrimination bill, Himes testified to the Montana House Judiciary Committee, on behalf of God, they should be allowed to discriminate against gays. He says the punishment is death but stopped short of saying the state should put them to death. Presumably, members of his Big Sky Christian Center should be the ones allowed to put them to death. For religious reasons. We did not have a chance to hear Himes views on virgins, adulterers, or selling ones daughters into slavery as that was outside the scope of this bill. We also did not hear how this would contribute to the economy or jobs situation in Montana.

Really?!??! This man smiles in front of the MT State Legislature after he says that gay people should be punished by death, and NO ONE in the room reacts? He and other "religious" people who believe this crap are simply more Jared Laughners waiting to happen: crazy people who smile at the thought of murder.

@TheSugnim Dave Strohmeier is sitting behind this guy, with his daughter in his lap. He is a City Councilman from Missoula Montana, and he passed the historic non-discrimination ordinance that is the subject of this bill. Missoula is a 3 hour drive and he sat there with his daughter for at least 3 hours. There were 52 people there to support equality. Only 7 of them were allowed to testify at this hearing.

The sad thing is that many of these people are just plain ignorant. It's not their fault; they were raised that way. Likewise were their parents were raised to believe a graceless, rigid, false Christianity that made them "right" & the rest of the world, not just wrong, but wicked, scary, & twisted. To these "true believers," sin is a contagion & "non-believers" (& liberal Christians) are infected hosts. If we can be converted or "cured," then great, but until then, we're anathema to them!

It appears that Mr. Himes is not upright before God. He has recently been charged with fraud, laundering and conspiracy to commit the same. The victim? A member of his flock. Check out the Missoulian website for more.
