From AllMusic.com:
By the time Denise Lopez achieved success in 1988 with the dancefloor and pop-radio hit "Sayin' Sorry (Don't Make It Right)," she had already paid her dues via several earlier singles deals with TNT and RCA. Neither of those hit pay dirt, but one single ("If You Feel It") made its way onto this well-produced pop-dance set and became a semi-hit. Though much of the material here would be merely average in the typical dance siren's hands, Lopez's distinctively defiant delivery gives it a fiery edge that is quite listener-friendly. Combined with writer and producer Eric Li's catchy melodies and spirited arrangements, the results are quite festive. While Lopez would expand to different producers and more ranging material on her 1990 follow-up, Every Dog Has Her Day, the songs on Truth in Disguise hold together better and are a bit easier on the senses. Even though other pop-dance femme fatales like Expose and Brenda K. Starr had more success in the late 80's with similar sounds, Lopez's recordings hold up better some years later.

  • was it only popplar in the US? I have never heard it on the radio or in TV. I know it from my american friend.

  • @DoReMiForever The song was a minor pop hit, peaking only at #86 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it's a favorite with fans of freestyle music. You can tell from all the comments here.

  • @MizBabyGirl Actually, this song made it all the way to #31 (8/20/88). It spent seventeen weeks in the Hot 100 (debuting on 6/11/88), with five of those weeks in the Top 40. Thanks for uploading!

  • @cbradwhitfield, thanks. The info I previously got must've been written wrong.

  • This dance track was often played at the skating rink I went to back in the day, used to fill the floor up, slammin' beat, and excellent vocals, one of the finest 80's dance tracks, hands down!!
