@MrRocknRollJoe Well, I could have included Iron Butterfly, Kiss, and the Beatles to. But people would have argued their direct influence to metal. But all four (Rush) were also hugely influential rock bands with just four members that came out before or during the 70's.

@ShieldMaidenBLS *cough* Rush.

Mordekaiser here ! Awesome !

@domms26 Ahh hell yea like many of the great bands that came out of the 70's, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Queen, never needed four musicians to sound just as amazing if not more so than groups with five. All three have been declared the greatest of their style, if not rock n' roll period.

Lord, I love this band! I always have, they will forever be the band deepest in my heart! Without Sabbath I would not love music like I do today! I can't wait for the chance to see them live in a full show, as they should be. I can only hope Iommi stays strong enough to be able to do it! I love you, boys! The original metal titans, IMHO! \m/

Tony you are a total badass!!! Get well soon, we need you! xx

They sound like a 5 man band when there are only 3 instruments up there on that stage. Long live Sabbath and positive vibes for Tony.
