I had the game at one point but it was my Dad's and I have no Idea when he got rid of it and I never played. So that's why I ask.

It's ambiguous (sp) ;
all of the people Travis fights are "assassins" (not really), in some Assassin League or something.
(a better word would just be fighter, can't see Speed Buster doing much assassinations)
Basically, you have to kill the person above you to move up in rank, and thus Travis guns for #1.
