The song resembles the way some people grow up, and how their proud to be alive and born where they were born. Amen dear lord. Amen.

I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and rised in the Boondocks
One thing I know, no matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the Boondocks

And I can feel that, muddy water runnin through my veins
And I can hear that, lullaby of the midnight train
And it sings to me and it sounds familiar

I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and rised in the Boondocks
One thing I know, no matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the Boondocks

And I can taste that, honeysuckle and it's still so sweet
When it grows wild, on the banks down at Old Camp Creek
And it calls to me like a warm wind blowin

I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and rised in the Boondocks
One thing I know, no matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the Boondocks

It's where I leared about livin
It's where I learned about love
It's where I learned about workin hard
And havin a little was just enough
It's where I learned about Jesus
And knowin where I stand
You can take it or leave it
This is me, this is who I am

Give me a tin roof
A front porch and a gravel road
And that's home to me
Feels like home to me

I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and rised in the Boondocks
One thing I know, no matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the Boondocks
I keep my heart and soul in the Boondocks

You get a line, I'll get a pole
We'll go fishin in the crawfish hole
5 card poker on Saturday night
Church on Sunday morning

You get a line, I'll get a pole
We'll go fishin in the crawfish hole
5 card poker on Saturday night
Church on Sunday morning

You get a line, I'll get a pole
We'll go fishin in the crawfish hole
5 card poker on Saturday night
Church on Sunday morning

You get a line, I'll get a pole
We'll go fishin in the crawfish hole
5 card poker on Saturday night
Church on Sunday morning

  • Wow this song totally relates to where I live, a small town nobody has heard of. At night you can hear the train coming through town. Just a small town in the midwest surrounded by corn, but at least we drive only a few minutes to get to the states largest city. It feels as if people always forget that there are people who live out here. Even though I prefer a city, I will always be a country girl at heart.

  • @ACCFLainie It's good knowing thats how you feel. It's kind of like how I am, ney, how I always will be. I grew up in a small town but was forced to move, knowing people in heart is always great but know how you trully are first. Be aware the city isnt everything for if and when you might move there you will miss the country, all is in all, life is life. So do as you with but know that everyone is equal. Amen to America, and Amen to God. Blessed be the Country and your life.

  • I thought boondocks was like the ghetto? what is this? xD
