@xTurnDaMusicUp eeh whatever, you're probably right.
around 54-60 people died.
-
@tjtheplay thought it was 57 that died?

@Tokeupbro You don't want to see the damage it would cause, that would be awful. And would be such a loss for beautiful mountain.

@AccessDenied55 Mt St Helens had several minor erruptions less than ten years ago. People on routine flights between Reno and Seattle were able to witness the events from the air, from a safe distance, of course. During a flight from Reno to Seattle in Dec. 2006, I saw a massive plume rising from Mt St Helens, but I do not know whether it was steam or ash. Mt Baker is the Cascade Volcano to watch now. I see it daily. It is currently very quiet but active. People ski on it.

@clairmontcreep Only 54 people died. They tried evacuating, but some idiots wanted to stay because they wanted to continue their job or whatever.

@Yyyyzyyy,wtf?ever hear about high-pressure eruptions?anyway,if the government did do this, then they wouldnt allow photographers to be there...and why would they destroy a landmark?

this video is a lie, the photographer of these pic name was gary rosenquist, he was at bear meadows,8 miles from the mountain..idk if its saying that this dude took these pics or not, but he didnt, i was 10 years old, and he was my step fathers brother, our whole lives were based around this growing up.the first place they came after escaping was our house, we were having a backyard bbq in tacoma wash. it was fn intense, they were so freaked out.everyone was out in the street looking
This video is not real, it's reconstructed from the photographer's still frames by interpolation.

The ash is uniquely toxic because it is made up of very tiny razor sharp pieces of rock, that will destroy your lungs.
