@timh7403 Agreed. Most artist should know there are certain songs and artist you just don't cover, and if you do you BETTER do it right. For example: Bob Dylan, The Beetles, Hendrix, and you might as well throw John Mayer on this continuing list...

haha, John may cover SVR and Jimi a lot but at least he's respectful enough to play the guitar well... Can't say the same about this guy.
Besides John Mayer has earned some respect from the blues community after playing with BB, Clapton etc. You think BB would offer to play on the stage with these kids?

@SlipperywhenBlake cause your argument doesn't apply and you missed the point. They played an untouchable song, and proved it by sounding terrible! They're pop artists, they can't play blues, especially not the heavy blues of Gravity. They're music will last a few years, songs like Gravity last decades, because it's so genuine. What a tragedy it is when something as powerful and as beautiful as a song is trampled on.

@timh7403 There are John Mayer Concerts here all the time, he alwys covers Hendrix songs (ALL THE TIME )he covers "Hey Joe", "Purple Haze", "Wait until Tomorrow", and "Little Wing". He also covers Stevie Ray songs too. He has two SRV guitars and 2 Hendrix guitars!!!!! He even has SRV initials tattood to his freaking arm, so yeah you're wrong.

whats his face up there says "even john mayer had to start somewhere. he wasn't born a blues god." The point is, this is a distinct John Mayer song, one of the best songs ever written. John is hugely influenced by SRV, but he doesn't cover him, and rarely will he cover Hendrix, and when he does he gets some heat. All because they're distinct artists.
