THIS IS A VIDEO OF MY M151A1 MILITARY JEEP FOR SALE ON EBAY. THIS VIDEO IS TO SHOW THE VEHICLE RUNNING, STOPPING, STARTING, FLASHERS, AND HEADLIGHT OPERATION. THANK YOU FOR VIEWING MY VIDEO...........
I hate when they cut them in half. When I got mine from my uncle he had to reweld it. I'm not an expert but I think all of them had to be cut up before they were sold to the public
Because of the independant suspension, these would roll over if you were to take a corner to sharp, to fast, this earned it the title of "killer jeep", so the US government had these cut in half after they reached the end of there use. If they were to continue service, they recieved a one piece rear axel. Do you know if by chance if yours was ever cut and re-welded later, or if it is still its oringinal one piece?
I just bought a 1967, un-cut. I can't wait to start restoring it.
The Gov actually started crushing these because people would buy the cut versions and then re-weld them together.
Another way to help stabilize the independent suspension is to put sand bags in the rear to the tune of roughly 100 to 150 lbs.
