I found the cause of the loose steering in my 1970 Mustang. The power steering adapter won't tighten to the frame.

  • I had the same problem on my 68 torino. You have to weld it, its just to much for bolts. After welding still flexs but its not coming off. Good luck bro.

  • Thanks for the comment. I have replaced all the linkages and pump with a Unisteer kit. Drives like a new car! The kit was not a direct bolt in, but I managed to get it all in and works great now.

  • if your going to weld it then just trace outline of design and have a welder who knows meat to make one out of heaver metal. Or use existing one and add supports to either side. You must know what your doing to do this or you could end up compromising the existing design, and it could fail while driving. Or just buy better parts.
