I just found an evans lift just like this one! seems WHSmith like them.

Today I was in Winnersh (Nr Reading), so I popped back into Bracknell and filmed Princess Square lifts we are talking about. Uploading it now, part 2 tomorrow!

Yes those are the lifts i'm thinking of, and i remember there being 6 of them. Shame they've knocked half of them down, but i suppose 6 lifts were not really needed there. They weren't exactly small lifts either.

They were Kone Maryatt Scott, later modernised then just called Kone. They had the giant buttons that Keighley used to install though. I did film these, but I didnt upload them for some reason. Will see if I can track them down and post them.
Remember there were 6 of these lifts? (3 each side of lobby?). The three on the sainsbury's side are still there, but the 3 on the other side were knocked down. Don't know exactly why, maybe there were too many lifts and they needed more room?!

Have not been to Bracknell for about 15 years, i seem to remember some Keighley's in a shopping centre there, near a supermarket but could be mistaken.

Lol, i'm just as bad! I went to Paignton a few years ago for the first time in nearly 20 years, the only thing i could remember about the place was the car park lifts next to Safeways (i was probably about 5 at the time). To my joy the lifts were still there exaclty as i remebered, but the Safeway was now a Lidl.
i'd rather look for older ones, especially in old multi stories, they seem to have the most interesting lifts.

Wow, how sad I am... some people reminisce about their childhood, I reminisce about old lifts in wycombe and Bracknell!!! LOL
-
Bracknell, although, I've posted them all on here!
Depends what you are after, myself, I am not really into the new generation - I like to reminisce about the older lifts like the ones that I have filmed. For the older generation, to be honest they have all but gone! Maidenhead used to have some old ones, but they have now been refurbished.
Great video
I like these old evans lifts.
these are rare. I have only ever once found a working old evans lift. But I have found several old evans dumbwaiters.

Yep, not many lifts left like this now, many have been modernised. This lift is in excellent condition, very smooth and quiet for a hydraullic.
When i worked at Nuffield Orthopedic Centre in Oxford in 2002 there were 2 old Evans lifts dating from the 1960's with the small and round black buttons (along with the orange "lift coming" indicator). The hospital has been extensively rebuilt now, so i'm not sure if the lifts are still there anymore.
