Just a tip: don't do 16th notes fills in a "swing" type pattern, it doesn't sound very good (eg. 0:38). Do an 8th triplet note fill instead, it fits the rythm much better.
-
you could make it sound even better by making the breakdown bass chart an upper harmony of the guitar sound and chorus the 3rd time round every 3 times an octave higher on the bass chart( the guitar sound instead of a bass guitar, make it a rhythm chart like in dragonforce songs on GH3) so there was a harmony, that would sound sick, otherwise great work man. all above is about the first song
the second song is awesome aswell

@James9894 You can't at the moment, Rock Band Network hasn't officially launched. It's just gone into open beta. The Rock Band Network Store (separate to the normal store) will launch in a few weeks time according to HMX. In the video he is using audition mode.

how do you get on rock band network from the main menu of rock band???
-
ohh is the guitar playing a swing, and the drums were playing straight 16th notes.
-
they're in time but they just really don't fit the riff
-
no they're fine :p
-
drums could be better whole song :P
-
i've known that guitar hero was shit quality ever since GH3.
Even though it's on Rock Band (bestest ever) I still don't like it.
-
LMAO no wonder you dont like the song. Guitar Hero sucks. Trust me, I have both and Rockband is way better. A lot of the songs I had on guitar hero I didn't like, but once I got them on Rockband I liked them. Guitar Hero has shitty sound quality and the tracks are out of line with the song half the time anyway, so it makes sense to not like the song on guitar hero. I never realized any of this until I got Rockband though.
-
nah, ive played it on guitar hero though.
i guess its more boring if you dont like the song
-
lol u crazy. It's fun on vocals, bass, and guitar. I doubt u even have the rockband dlc
neither of these songs are the shit.
they're just average......
worth the cash though.

any tips for making them better, or parts that you particularly have a distaste for?

i'm in love with both of these songs, but i have a few suggestions.
the drums are kinda bland on both songs, perhaps you could add some additional kicks or a 'double hit' or whatever with the snare. and since you're not doing any vocals for the parts you designed for the 'verse', i think you should add some more complex riffage to them [especially somber, the verse almost made me click away]. the outro on fragile was great, and i think you let somber's outro run a bit too long. hope this helps.

When you say Riffage you're referring to guitar or the drums? I agree that the drums are pretty basic, I'd want to record actual playing on my friend's e-kit if i was going to actually put this up. It was sort of like "What's a fitting beat that I can copy-pasta for the verses" XD.

With some little fixes, I'd definitely buy both songs if I could =D

Any fixes in mind? Or just cleaning up my sloppy playing in general? :P
