Maybe you were lucky and didn't spend $1000 a year on repairs, but I am sure that people that junked this crap did. You have to look at the bottom line here. Do 15mpg or 30mpg. 4cylinder cars from Subaru, Toyota and Honda certainly last over 300k mile and unlimited years, I got proof. Without any repairs.Not only that, these 4 cylinder Hondas and Toyotas keep better value than Jeeps. A 2001 GC is worth about $4500 in perfect running order. If you pay any more, good luck.

hahaha.... I drive a 13 year old car. The reason your car is a guzzler is not it's age, but because gas has historically (even today) been very cheap in the US. Enjoy it while it lasts, but mark my words - start looking for a 1.3 to 2.0 litre engine in a Japanese or Korean made car because when it hits $7 per gallon (which it is here today), you'll quickly change your tune.

Seriously, what planet are you on? My car does 18 M/G (12.5L per 100km) and that is considered to be poor fuel economy here. How you and your fellow posters in the USA ended up with a nation of vehicles doing 10 M/G or worse is beyond belief. I agree that it is wasteful to trash these vehicles however they have little or no value is most countries and shortly you guys will have a reality check. btw: I massively doubt this p.o.s. gets 16-21.
