Tatung LE-9 Oscillating Fan

I bought this Tatung back in 1980 (I was twelve at the time) at the local Lumber City (a chain store which is no longer around). It's a model LE-9 which is a 9" two speed oscillating fan.

The motor is a small c-frame type shaded pole motor which is center tapped for the speed control. The fan continues to run great, but we keep it clean and give it the occasional shot of Zoom Spout oil.

Hmm.... That's weird I got one of these. Mine is from 1978 and doesn't have the C-frame motor but a miniature version of a regular stator and rotor motor with a capacitor with a huge motor protector.

I like these models as well, this one has been very durable and it runs nicely even at nearly 30 years old.

Awesome old Tatung fan! These will keep running forever if you keep them cleaned and oiled.

This was like my sister's old Tatung, only her's was a 12-inch like mine, but her's was model LE-12, I think.
