Jean-Claude NICOLAI was born in 1950 in Liege. His more recent works have a realistic touch and are mainly of the figurative type.
From the majority of his works, you get the feeling of well-being; he believes with a wise ingenuousness (and sometimes an ironic view) that natural and artistic beauty may coincide.

Jean-Claude NICOLAI rejects the mediocrity and misfortune philosophy : here are the basic parameters which backs his creative and artistic communication.
His oil paintings, his drawings and aquarelles follow above all an expressionist trend.
Expressionist in the rough, with sometimes a wild touch;
Expressionist in the colours, often saturated, not wanted.
