Jackbarney1 - That's because it a stunt double- The commercial was filmed at the Boonton Diner in Boonton, NJ. Hope never left L.A. They built a replica booth in LA to film his scene with the newspaper and then use a double to walk out of the diner

I always thought it was funny how they speeded up the video so Bob Hope looked like he was running out of the restaurant.

It's from 1997 because around 0:10 they show Sesame Street and at the bottom of the screen you can see the SS copyright which says "1997 Children's Television Workshop".

@lonewulf44 Definently not. Our local big lots are full of dirt, moldy ceiling tiles, and pot-hole parking lots. At least kmart has "decent (not good, but decent") parking lots and somewhat clean stores. They also have friendlier staff, more products, and a better shopping atmosphere that our local big lots. Big lots in your area may be different, but I just prefer Kmart

I worked there in 98' they always use to play this song on the in-store radio. I believe this was the first year we converted to a "Big" kmart.
