Sorry for the quality. Did this real quick between packing and everything else. Will try to upload a more coherent video in a few weeks once I'm settled at home... and if I find decent internet...

  • One more thing (in the vein of revised hair regimens): My type 4 hair experience has been to wear protective styles a lot more in our dastardly tropics than I ever did in temperate climates. You'll notice the 300% humidity in Lagos also carries lots of salt. Went from a twist-out everyday in the US to protective styles in Lagos most of the time. I can get away with more frequent twist-outs only during the dry season--which is like 2 weeks now, thanks to global warming :-)

  • If you can, get a cook/steward/maid. Don't have to do housework/laundry if you don't want to.

You can post videos if you still want to. (See other comment re ISP below.) Power and internet connection issues are ever-present, but we're not still completely in the dark ages :-)

You do need to revise your hair regimen. Check if you've got hard water. (ACV helps a lot.) Been back 4 years and it took forever to figure out what to do with my hair cos I wasn't really paying attention.

    Good luck!

  • So sorry about your experiences with racism. Most people are just xenophobic. I experienced it in high school after moving to America... I hope all is well with you.

  • Congrats! Your so lucky!! I don't blame you the UK is dulling. I plan to go back soon myself and do my nysc. Cannot wait for your natural experiences in Naij especially with the heat. As per your business try and get it on LPM. You can also get an internet dongle for on the go stuff. 11.47- you are at saturation point- I get what you mean.

I am 10months going on 11 months 4b.c natural and I try and keep it simple. Stay blessed and have a safe trip :)

  • @prettikitti I think you still have to although you can be an expat and also there are exemptions apparently.

  • All the best as you transition back to Nigeria! It will be cool to see where LITK goes and get a Nigeria perspective. Will you still guest blog for BellaNaija? Also, will you be doing youth service? Do you know if Nigerians born abroad but who want to work in Nigeria have to do it? I've been wondering. Sorry for all the questions. Be blessed!

  • Get Swift 4G. For your internet. It's really good. Well, if you're going to be in Lagos that is, I don't know what it's like anywhere else. Good luck! Oh and get enough products to last you a few months for your hair. Cause you might have a hard time getting a good supplier for hair stuff initially. Have you tried Giovanni's Direct Leave In? Works great for me. Most people have said going from SL - APL is THE hardest ever. Literally takes a year or more for some people to get to APL.

  • i hope you have a safe trip. please keep us posted on your life back in nigeria.

  • Just curious....why do you have to go back specifically to Nigeria? If it is too personal then just ignore my question. :)

  • I had no idea you were Nigerian! I'm Nigerian. Have a safe trip!
