What is Trigger Point Myotherapy? Trigger Point Myotherapy is a therapeutic discipline and technique used for the relief of myofascial (myo=muscle: fascial=connective tissue) pain and dysfunction. It is a modality resulting from the lifelong medical careers of Drs. Janet Travell and David Simons. Trigger Point Myotherapy is recognized by the American Academy of Pain Management as a modality for the treatment of myofascial pain and dysfunction. The goal of myotherapy treatment is the recovery from or a significant reduction in, myofascial pain. This goal is achieved through a systematized and comprehensive approach using a variety of soft tissue manipulation techniques. Most patients with myofascial pain and dysfunction see excellent results in the return of mobility, function, and reduction of pain after treatment. Those patients with acute conditions due to accidents, or sports and repetitive motion injuries see dramatic results and quick return to their normal daily and professional activities.

  • I will bet the people that put dislike are chiropractors (they cost a arm & a leg today) =) I also have found my trigger points. I believe. I stretch every day.

  • @tweetnes Could be, but it could also be these childish skeptics.

  • What bunkum. Please give studies conducted into this 'treatment' that are controlled and published in peer reviewed journals.

  • @Answersinbooks Sounds like a rehash of Kineisiology BS.

  • Awesome. However, one thing I noticed was how obese some of these people with pain are! Tasso can work magic but I think the subjects could do even more by looking after their eating habits. Be Cosmic ...

  • @salphen I am a skeptic about these things as well. I met him while doing a radio interview. Pain leaves you with an open mind. He has done Pittsburgh TV MANY times, along with other outlets, and they keep bringing him back. It is odd stuff, but it worked for me and it works for others as well. Thanks

  • @salphen Its ok, Tasso has been helping people for years, and has appeared 30 or 40 times on Pittsburgh TV, and many other shows, in Orlando, I told them not to let him on the show unless he helped everyone at the station with whatever muscle pains they had, Fox 35. Remarkably, they kept him on the entire morning.

I met him while I was doing an interview at a radio station. I was amazed. And I am a skeptic, believe me.

It was very new to me, but pain keeps your mind open. Thanks

  • @OFFICIALPAINFREE I did follow the links. It's a late 90's website that any twelve year old could make. There's no references to anything having been published in any medical journal of any quality. Usually a medical scam will at least link to some scam journal. Once or twice the name of an old Kennedy doctor is dropped. Google brings up very little under the name. All I see is someone desperate to sell dvds and seminar seats.

  • @salphen Did you follow the links? Tasso, did not originate this amazing treatment method. Muscle treatment is common, I just happen to be good at it. Caution is a good thing, thanks for the questions, do not mind them at all.

  • @OFFICIALPAINFREE So, capslock instead of links to published peer-reviewed studies? Fail. I hope you at least have the integrity to sell this as a supplement to actual medical treatment, rather than a replacement.

  • @OFFICIALPAINFREE

Oh yes I agree =) The troll are out there LOL

  • @Answersinbooks You are not a researcher, if you are...I hope you never do my lab work.
