The problem is people are over extended.
They knew they couldn't afford what they bought on credit. But didn't care and now they are losing their homes. Well, to bad so sad. pay cash next time or don't buy.

One of "the Fed's" duties is to supervise and to regulate?
Here's a question for you.. is "the Fed" a part of the US government? Answer NO.
If "the Fed" was a part of US govt.. WHY is one of the US federal govt's largest budget items *** interest *** paid to the Fed? Shouldn't that $ be going to schools, used to pay off the govt debt, & to pay for social security?
And if the Fed prints our money, why is it that WE (the US ppl) cannot audit them?

The New York Times reported on this a few weeks ago: "White House Philosophy Stoked Mortgage Bonfire". Read online. On pg 3 you find: "And he pushed to allow first-time buyers to qualify for federally insured mortgages with no money down. Republican Congressional leaders and some housing advocates balked". Also read the Wall Street Journal: "Housing Push for Hispanics Spawns Wave of Foreclosures" about the congressional hispanic caucus (largely democrats) pushing for easy lending to minorities.

so sad right now about all of this. thank you for your
forthrightness and this video. we all need to fight
together, somehow. i have felt so betrayed by our
"elected representatives" ..... it's all so corrupt ..... as an
citizen of the United States, I feel so sad right now.
Nobody forced anyone to sign their name on the dotted line. Renting has always been an option. It is also the responsibility of the person agreeing to the contract to understand the terms of the contract. Who would you expect to rescue you if you foolishly spent $500 on a Beanie Baby? The lesson here is to take personal responsibility for making foolish choices.

I agree that borrowers should have known better, but obviously they don't. Most troubling is that the Government did know better and they still allowed this to happen.
Our government has promulgated dozens of laws to protect consumers, our economy and innocent citizens from these crimes, but they were not enforced. This is not acceptable!
