Great ideas! Is he potty trained now?

My son is 3 years old and due to a lot of unfortunate reasons he was not interested to potty train. He is far from me but I see him over the internet and talk to him when i want. Do you have suggestions for me about what books i can read to him, and some videos or something I can send him to help him understand about potty training even from a distance? I would appreciate it a lot. I feel like I can still do something special for him even though i am not there

This is exactly how I started with my three and will do the same with my fourth.  We started with the first trip to the potty right after breakfast. We just gradually added another trip to the potty during the day until the child was trained, mostly letting the child lead the way. No stress, and my children (2 boys 1 girl) were fully trained (including at night) at 2 1/2 years. You'll do great!

I wasn't going to watch this because I am dreading potty training, but then I realized what a great teacher you have been in your videos in the past. I'm glad I did! You never dissapoint in explaining how you teach Henry in such interesting fashions! Thank you for sharing all of your tips!

My daughter is 21mths and we are in the very early stages of PTing too. It's still pretty random because although she understands the concept, she doesn't always have the muscle and nerve control (or so my baby nurse tells me lol). I've just taken a very relaxed attitude too, because she is so young. I decided to start because she started asking to sit on the toilet (with a child's seat) and I noticed she was staying dry for several hours at a time.

One thing we have done, is make a potty box! I just buy cheap little toys, books, fun socks, etc (most of it comes from the $1 spot at Target). Then whenever she goes on the big girl potty she gets to pick a prize. There are also a couple bigger prizes for if she poops. If she sits and doesn't do anything, she still gets an m&m or something for at least trying! She gets pretty excited about being able to pick a prize! It also worked wonders for trying to get her to give up her nuk!!!
