@Shiztacular: A feeling to an album is a subjective opinion someone has! I know about the circumstances!! Thanks :-) Maybe I was in a dark place too and that was what I needed. I wasn't into this funky stuff. OHM made me fall in love with RHCP, I was 12 in 1995, and THEN I started to like the older albums and the following ones. There's no question about Frusciante. He's magic!
I don't like Navarro as a person but I like the guitar on One Hot Minute. Does anyone have their own opinion or are they saying what everyone else is saying?

The band was in a dark place at the time (as songs reflect).
Anthony was struggling immensely after his relapse, among all the other band tension.
Although we can all agree Frusciante is the much better fit for the band. You can't deny some of the great work put on this album.
I think it would b vry interesting 2 see how the music that would come from band sessions with him in present day!
