@jajohnson7809 No one knows the exact origins. You can find Green man images even on Christian churches. Many Gaelic folks = him with the Dagda. Basically I think he represents the Spirit in/of Nature. So he can be seen similar to the horned god. But Frey and similar gods from many cultures are probably the origin for the horned god.
