  • This is absolutely gorgeous! I have two QM2 1/400 models in kits ready to be built, along with several other ones. I haven't done a light system for 15 years, when I used dollhouse lights attached to a AA battery unit for my Titani 1/350. Is this attached to a battery pack or plug? How many bulbs did you use? Did you have to cut a hole in the hull? Can it float? How much time per week did you put into the model over the 6-7 months? I have a slammed schedule so want to get an idea. Thanks!

  • Can I ask what type of paint do you use? Example testors acrylic spray paints

  • @23takemeaway Thanks for your comment. The LED lights do not give off any heat at all so no worries of plastic melting. No overload either as each LED is only rated at mico amps and as i use a 12 volt power supply rated at 5 amps it is way more power than is actaully needed.

  • a very good model is when it/she gives of the appearance of being muc bigger than it is. which this certanly does. nice work with led lights. takes great patience. but, dosn't it overload or melt the plastic?

  • Dear Santa!!

  • @Peter43John Didn't think of it at the time--but i have another model to build with over 400 lights on it, and it will have the portholes drilled out and lit up.

  • stunning jock, well done

  • I have a 1/350 QE2 and a 1/540 Titanic. I did not illuminate them as you have, but I PAINTED the portholes: SILVER on QE2, YELLOW on Titanic! Alot of work just to paint them let alone light 'em up, but well worth it! You get a feeling for just how huge the ships really were!

  • why didn't you illuminate any portholes within the hull??

  • This is pretty fucking amazing!
