What if the fight is about how one of you never stops dragging on? What happens when it's their turn to talk, and you have to repeat everything they say, and they never stop? Then you're pretty fucked.

@gkapec Your simplification is right. Generally, a woman will only feel like listening to her man's advice only if he has listened to her story first, regardless whether it's trivial or not, then validates her feelings. She just appreciates the period of undivided attention aka sincere listening.
