Twenty two cars were measured with an Earthquake meter as they shook the ground with the same energy as a 300Kg load of explosives going off just 500m away! Organised by Adam Rayner at Santa Pod raceway in October 2008, we actually SET a NEW world record and there have beem 'world' Sound Pressure Level records in all formats for ever. Sadly, the SPL meters tend to disagree with each other and under those circumstances, there can be no record. We measured true ground pounding with a Seismometer and two scientists from Vibrock an environmental consultancy from Heanor in Derbyshire! This video is a record of who was there at the first ever fully ratified Bassquake record.

  • @PUMPKINMAN63 thanks mate - it's all pure one-take gonzo. I don't usually get it right on take one though!

  • Dammmm bro, i never knew this was your channel, Im sure ive seen you on some maxpower dvd's and at a Doncaster car show a few years ago!

Well i subscribed to you bro!

  • Absolutely Dude - I'm oooold! And I returned the compliment!

  • How much did this rate on the rictor scale? (not sure if that is spelled right).

But hell, thats one great record to have!

  • Thanks, and yep, it's Richter..I studied seismology at university and spoke at length to the British Geological survey and technically it doesn't make for 'real' science' but from previous experience it could equate to a 5.6 - not building breaking but terrifying for a normal Briton.
