Ken and Gary Utah Motorcycle Trip 2011

My best pal Gary Maier and myself approaching California from northern Nevada. It's difficult to describe the openess and endless landscape crossing through this area. We were roasting as we passed through the valley as lightning struck the mountaintops ahead and giant drops of cool rain came down on us!

I know, there were tons of prisons in the middle of nowhere! I know what you're saying about no AC in the desert. At the gas stops I would drench myself with water from the hose or in the bathroom. We'd get on and ride and I'd be completely dry in a few miles. It was scorching.

You drive for miles and think you see a town, however it's another prison. Sure makes you appreciate SLO. I've driven from Reno to Boise and back 4 times. The first time in the 70's, with no AC and a cooler full of ice water with towels to wet and wrap around my neck. After I got home, I installed AC in the convertible, but hardly use it in California.
