This is for you Glock fans out there who haven't discovered the awesome GSSF matches held just about everywhere in the United States...well maybe besides Alaska or Hawaii. I always see curious Glock fans whom have heard about GSSF, but aren't willing to set a step forward to attend one match. So here is a shooter's perspective...at least mine...to show you just how simple and fun it is to shoot one of these matches. I'm one of those shooters that don't shoot these often, usually once a year, but if I had the funds I would definitely hop around the US to attend all of them. If you see one within your area, don't miss the chance! All it takes your Glock, maybe 2 mags, and about 150 rounds of ammo just be positive you have enough to finish the match. No holsters, mag pouches, or anything fancy required.

If you don't have a Glock, just buy one! Or borrow one....ummm...if it's legal at your state. Nevertheless, I wasn't about to show every string I shot like my other videos...you would be snoring 3 minutes in. As for results, like I noted, I had my best time with my Glock 22. Just to give a little taste of how bad I usually shoot these matches, I average around 40-60 seconds of penalities...my raws are always from 50-80 seconds. So this time around, I made every shot with my G22 count. So am I happy with my performance? Not really, but it's great knowing that going around the 70 range is actually possible...though I'll have to aim better. Till next year!

  • What video system were you using on this video?

  • @AllenFamilyMadness - I was using a Samsung SC-X300L video system....it's a discontinued model but you can probably still find it on Ebay. That's where I got it, plus it was refurbished (but it still works great).

  • i need to get me a glock. i just cant desied between the 34 or 17. i want one for home defense and range use but the cut out on the slide of the 34 worries me as far as dust and stuff getting in there.

  • You don't need to worry about the cut out. It assists in decreasing the felt recoil (not by much though). The Glock was designed to be shot in harsh environments, you do not need to worry about a little dirt and dust.

  • Man, that looks like fun! I just came back to Glock pistols from Beretta pistols for both on duty and off. I can't wait for my first GSSF event. Nice shooting, hope to see you at an event!

  • You will have a blast at the GSSF match. It's even more fun if you drag a couple of friends with you too. Every GSSF match that I've gone to, I've gotten something...1st Lady or a free glock knife or a free 2-year membership. It's crazy just how much more you get back from the Glock folks. Well worth the small-cost membership! If you go, make sure to post a vid!

  • It may be: "Rain or Shine" but Heaven

Help you if there is even a smattering

of Lightning ! They'll Run everyone off

the Ranges like Scared Rabbits !

  • Whoops. Never mind. Just saw your profile. Going to my first GSSF match this fall. Can't wait!

  • Nice work. What kind of sights do you have on your 22 and 34? Doesn't look like stock sights but I can't tell for sure

  • How many rounds do you need to bring to this competition? Also, is there a restriction on the type of ammunition? I'm thinking about going to one for the first time with my new G34. Any beginner info will help me to decide if I want to make the 4+ hour trip to GSSF.

  • @dp665 I shoot a G17 gen4 in IDPA and GSSF. It all depends on what you're comfortable with. I just didn't want to purchase both the G17&34, so I picked the 17 because it would allow me to shoot amateur civilian. The g34 is only allowed in competition and open.

Plus, if I win amateur civ then I would win a voucher to put towards a g34.

  • Great Video

I live in Florida so logically I decided upon the G17 RTF2 for IDPA... gets hot down here and the grip is perfect! After shooting it 100 times my first range session I stopped using all my other pistols.

I also have a SS Lonewolf threaded barrel and Jager Comp which looks much like Gamingoddess S&J compensator at first glance.
