John and Paul mess around for a bit before George begins playing his acoustic. Rather an intimate little session.
Dylan himself had not yet recorded 'I Threw It All Away,' though he would do so the following month for _Nashville Skyline_, while 'Mama, You Been On My Mind' was primarily a live song.
George probably had no intention of recording any of these songs; he was just fond of Dylan. He did, however, release a cover of 'If Not For You' the following year on _All Things Must Pass_.

yeah well you may be referring to the "Halloween Show" at Philharmonic Hall, NYC, Oct 31, 1964, w/Joan Baez......they sang it together and she said 'daddy' instead of 'mama'. dylan wrote a beautiful song. i never heard george play it though, wow, its great.
ok really, this is enough. everyone needs to listen a little harder or read the info section. it is george singing not paul, i thought that was obvious. and if you don't like it then that's ok too, but an absolute travesty? really?
